10 years of tutoring - Thoughts on the future
Just like many similar websites, my business has taken a big hit from the progress of ChatGPT and similar chatbots. I get it, I can’t really be too upset, that’s the price of progress. I still believe that genuine human connection can foster learning in a way that the bots are unable to do. The chatbot won’t hunt you down to motivate you to continue after you disappear for a couple sessions. You never really feel accountable to a bot the same way you do a human. In an attempt to continue my love for teaching cybersecurity, I’ve launched a new project- https://canyouhack.me
I’m building out this platform and it’s nearing release. I’ve been quietly working on it for most of this year. It’s been progressing fairly well! I hope to start advertising it soon. As long as people still wait my mentoring program I’ll keep mentoring, but alas the future seems bleak for personal tutors. Really, I should have started this project years ago. No need to dwell on the past though- I am excited that my new project can survive the future world of chat bots.
